Hosted by Club Sportiva, a car membership club in San Francisco and organized by BAIA (Business Association Italy America), the event showcased the breakthrough electric vehicle prototype, the Wrightspeed X1, which is also the world’s 2 nd fastest car, second only to the Bugatti Veyron. Capable of going from 0-60 in less than 3 seconds while getting the equivalent of a whopping 170 mpg, the prototype brings to life the long term solution for oil consumption in the transportation industry. According to the Wrightspeed website, the car is powered by a 3-phase AC induction motor and inverter – the highest power/weight ratio system available, with about a decade of durability testing to date.
