The Quality Equipment Newsletter

Fluid Film has been successfully utilized by major OEM’s for years to protect and lubricate equipment during the manufacturing process, as well as protect shipments heading overseas and preserve parts in storage. From John Deere, who uses the product to protect combines and tractors being shipped overseas as well as selling it in their retail outlets, to Corona Clipper, who dip all their metals in a vat of Fluid Film before packaging for rust protection, Fluid Film has provided the best corrosion protection available for a multitude of industries and applications. The use of Fluid Film in the manufacturing process is a direct indication of a company's committment to superior quality.

Focusing on the landscaping industry, I recently spoke with Gary Partridge, the founder of Better Outdoor Products, a North Carolina based commercial mower manufacturer about his business and the importance of corrosion protection in the landscaping industry. I found the connection between our two companies intriguing, as Better Outdoor Products has made a solid name for itself in the mower manufacturing industry by providing high quality products at a competitive price, much like Fluid Film.

Better Outdoor Products started in 2003 as the first company to develop, manufacture and market directly to the Professional Landscaping community. Bypassing traditional dealer-based distribution, Better instead used the Internet to efficiently communicate with its market. Selling commercial mowing equipment directly to the people who use it allowed Better Outdoor to provide a lot more product for their customer’s money.

“Our whole thing is about delivering on-going value to our Owners,” states founder, Gary Patridge. “Our mowers provide excellent features and benefits and we do our best to continue delivering value all throughout the life-cycle of the product. Many of our customers tell us they receive better service from us than from their local dealers”.

“Equipment used in our industry is subject to uniquely harsh conditions. Chemicals, heat, long hours of use and the natural corrosives found in the lawn-care environment make for a difficult place to live. A big part of ensuring our customer’s long-term satisfaction with their Quick mowers is teaching them how to properly maintain it.” Better Outdoor provides a unique mixture of traditional manuals, online service videos and in-Factory training for commercial landscapers. They also provide toll-free access to professional service advisers through normal business hours. “When someone owns a Quick mower, they become a part of our family. We’re committed to keeping them up and running”, Patridge adds.

“Two of the key elements for good equipment life are cleanliness and lubrication. Our mowers leave the factory spotless and fully serviced; Fresh filters, clean oil, greased spindles and cables, caster forks and pivot surfaces all coated with Fluid Film. To receive the maximum life and the most enjoyable use out of their mower, we strongly encourage our owners to pay special attention to these two things, keeping them clean and keep everything fully lubricated. We believe this so strongly that we include a sample of Fluid Film in every new Owner’s package just to get them started-off on the right foot”.

Providing superior quality protection and lubrication during the manufacturing process is a good indication of an OEM's committment to quality. Better Outdoor Products has exhibited that committment. When all is said and done, customer satisfaction is the key determination in product success. By the reviews its mowers receive, Better Outdoor Products is attaining that success. We are pleased that they are recommending Fluid Film to maintain the superior quality or their equipment.
